Opening her heart
She feels bare and exposed
Not sure who‘ll try to enter
Does she protect herself from all the world
or trust the few who brave its depth
Desire lies inside
Desire to see the truth
To know and feel and trust real love
To be seen and heard and known especially by her God
Desires to grow and never return
to the path she once was led
Her heart, this path she did discern
She won’t go back to silence and pain
She has hope and joy
She has everything to gain
To open her heart is quite the risk
Bouts of fear, it may exist
but only for a moment will her fear last
A gift she has, she learns lessons fast
Because faith in her God will always rush in colored with love and grace
He’ll turn her eyes to see His Truth
It’s what He’s done ever since her youth
With this faith she’ll let one in
Who will always hold her near
Who knows her worth and doesn’t mind her fear
Who values her more than gold
He‘ll give her room to grow
Yet keeps his heart close
Her open heart he stands at guard
For in her heart, he knows knows his own
